Anand Kumar is a brave young boy from Buxar, Bihar, currently fighting a courageous battle against Retinoblastoma (RB), a serious form of eye cancer. Despite his tender age, Anand has shown incredible resilience throughout his intensive treatment journey at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi.

Since his diagnosis, Anand’s life has been defined by frequent hospital visits and rigorous care. He has been under the dedicated care of the Retinoblastoma & Ocular Oncology Services and the Department of Pediatric Oncology, where he underwent a surgical enucleation in July 2025 and completed External Beam Radiation Therapy (EBRT) in March 2026. Currently, he is undergoing cycles of adjuvant chemotherapy (including medications such as Vincristine, Carboplatin, and Etoposide).

Current Progress: The medical team is closely monitoring Anand’s health, specifically focusing on managing episodes of transaminitis (elevated liver enzymes) that have occurred during his treatment. He recently required an emergency evaluation in May 2026 due to episodes of vomiting. His treatment plan continues to require close observation, systematic laboratory blood work (including LFTs and CBC), and coordinated care between the Pediatric and Ocular Oncology departments.

Monitoring Complications: The medical team has been closely monitoring for transaminitis (elevated liver enzymes), which has necessitated adjustments or temporary pauses in the chemotherapy schedule.

Recent Events: As of May 12, 2026, Anand was evaluated in the Pediatric Emergency department due to episodes of vomiting.
